News From The General Manager
Welcome to the November Chartham Park newsletter.
The summer seems a distant memory now as the weather we have been experiencing has been slightly less than desirable. But, I am sure you will all agree with me that the golf course looks beautiful as the trees are changing and the leaves are dropping. As the colder weather draws in, it’s a great time to warm up with a hot toddy in the bar!
This is a great time to book in for a gym review and have a new fitness programme written for you. The Christmas and New Year party season (complete with over indulgences) is fast approaching! The Wellness Team have put together some great healthy recipes to try over the winter months, just pop up to the gym and take a copy of the ones you fancy. Please let us know your feedback and your favourite meal.
On 26th October, we held our annual fireworks display and party night which was a slightly damp evening. Thank you to all our members and guests who attended and braved the elements. We all had a great time and the fireworks were fortunately fabulous despite the rain.
On Wednesday 13th November, our Seniors Golf Captain Keith Johnson hosted the inaugural Seniors Charity Day to raise funds for this years charity; Chestnut Tree House. The event was really well attended with 18 holes of golf, followed by lunch and live music. The band ‘Wrong Direction’ consisted of a group of golf members and was supported by health and fitness member Anna Howie. A huge well done to Keith for organising the event which raised over £4000 for Chestnut Tree House.
On the golf course the winter league matches are well under way, despite some poor weather. This is the time of the year where the care of the course becomes a little more challenging. I would like to take the opportunity to ask you to support the clubs green keeping team and remind all our golf members to do your best to look after your course.
May I remind members of a few Club rules:
- Only children under 8 years of age can go into the opposite sex changing room, there is a family changing room located along the crèche corridor.
- When using the swimming pool area, please remember to take your towel with you onto poolside. To keep the changing room floor free from water, please towel dry on poolside or in the shower area before you return to your locker.
- Children under the age of 8 years using the swimming pool must have an adult in the water with them at all times.
- Children under the age of 16 years must have an adult supervising in the swimming pool area at all times.
We are finishing 2019 with a mixture of events at the Club, including Christmas parties, Christmas lunches, the Turkey Trot on 15th December, Christmas Texas Scramble on 28th December and New Years Eve party.
