News From The General Manager
Welcome to the February edition of the Chartham Park newsletter. I hope you’ve all had a great start to 2020 and are still on track with your new year resolutions. We have enjoyed the buzz in the club and seeing you all keeping up with your fitness.
The team are on hand to help you continue with your 2020 goals. Be it fitness, golfing or simply having more time for yourself, we have the facilities and expertise at Chartham Park. Remember that the Wellness Team can motivate you with either a brand-new programme or review. If it doesn’t challenge you it won’t change you!
The new look group training timetables for adults and children commenced on 6th January. I hope that you have been enjoying the new classes. We have had some great feedback from the new children’s Zumba on a Friday afternoon so why don’t you book your children in this week? The timetable can be picked up from reception or downloaded from www.charthampark.com.
On 24th January, we held our first Quiz Night of the year. 100 quizzers attended hosted by Golf Professional turned Quiz Master David Hobbs. The evening was won after a tie-breaker question; ‘as the crow flies, how many miles from East Grinstead to Brighton?’ The answer is 22 miles. A big well done to The Medway Minds who had the closest guess of 21 miles. Due to popular demand and a long waiting list for this quiz, we will be running duplicate evening on Friday 21st February. Do not attend if you did the last one! If you would like to join us, please confirm at reception. Teams are up to six players with a meal of lasagne all for just £10.
The New Year weather has seen almost every extreme, from sunshine and blue skies followed by heavy rain and the occasional frost and fog. The golf course has suffered some closures and we fully understand frustrations; it is always our last resort to close the course. All of us at Chartham Park are very grateful for your understanding and patience. I can assure you the Greenkeeping Team are working hard to make sure that the course drains as quickly as possible. We will keep you updated with the course status and I am crossing everything that February brings sunshine and blue skies.
