Wind is one of the toughest challenges golfers face. There are simple adjustments you can make to help your game during these conditions.
The most common mistake is that people try to hit the ball harder. The harder you swing, the more spin you will impart on the ball. We need to reduce ball spin on a windy day. The benefits of reduced ball spin include:
· Lower ball flight
· Straighter shots
· Improved accuracy
Rather than hitting the ball harder, take 1 or 2 more clubs and swing at around 75-80%. Grip down on the club for more control. Stability is important, and squatting slightly at address will help you stay more on top of the ball. Move the ball back in your stance and your weight forward.
